Telegraph Road Construction Update
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is scheduled to begin an extensive reconstruction and resurfacing project on US-24, also known as Telegraph Road, throughout Oakland County. Given the direct impact to our neighbors and response area, the FBFD has chosen to include information regarding this project on our web site. Franklin PD provides new service
The Franklin Police Department has established an electronic means of contacting residents of public safety advisories in the area. To register for this free site, please go to Nixle at local.nixle.com/register/ and create an account.
Knox Box Program now offered to homeowners
The Franklin-Bingham Fire Department is involved in the Knox-Box key security program. This voluntary program enables our residents to safeguard their house key for public safety access during an emergency response to their homes. While there is a cost to obtain a key box, your puchase and participation in the program does come with benefits. One of these benefits is our ability to gain access to your home during an emergency, rather than entering by the use of force. Since each response is unique, the Fire Department can not and does not guarantee box use every time; however, on the majority of occasions when Knox-Box use is required, homeowners can be saved a great deal of stress and money. To order a box, please call the fire station at 248.626.9862 and ask to speak with the Fire Chief. Please note that this is a public service to the community by the fire department and as such, no funds are generated for the fire department as a result of sales.
